Equipment gets replaced under warranty, substituted by an installer, or rebadged upstream. The paperwork describes the purchase order, not the estate. Three years later those are different things.

The record describes what is electrically present now. Where a device cannot be identified with confidence, it says so instead of passing it as compliant, which is the failure mode that matters here.
